Cut beads are beads bearing the mechanically cut facets. At the beginning of production the beads were hand-sharpened. Today the first part of production is mechanical grinding. The second part is polishing heat, thus creating Fire polish.
Fire polished beads are the most popular types of beads. In the mid-19th century, when it began to produce Jablonec had a monopoly on the production thanks to the manual grinding of pearls that had no competition.
